Confirmation Class

Led by
Pastor Ludwig, confirmation class is offered to all seventh and eighth
grade youth. Confirmation involves a two-year program where seventh and
eighth graders meet together on Wednesdays after school. The curriculum
rotates with students spending one year studying the Bible and one year
studying the Catechism.
Sunday Morning Bible Class
-
Held
on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. from September through May. The class
is led by Pastor Ludwig.
Wednesday Men's Bible
Breakfast -
This
group meets year-round on Wednesday mornings at a local restaurant. The
men start their day with ample portions of food and fellowship. Pastor
Ludwig leads the group in studying a particular book of the Bible or
related books. The study group begins at 7:00 a.m. and usually lasts an
hour.
Wednesday
Morning Women's Study Group
-
This
study group is perfect for "stay at home moms". Weekly sessions begin at
9:30 a.m. and feature great discussions, lots of laughter, prayer, and
homemade treats. Moms are encouraged to bring their children.
A free will offering pays for a baby-sitter. Pastor
Ludwig leads the studies that have included books of the Bible as well
as topics such as marriage and parenting.
Monthly Senior's Group -
PICLS
Monthly Couples' Groups -
A couples'
group gets together on a monthly basis for Bible Study and fellowship.
Couples take turns hosting the sessions and sometimes leading the Bible
studies.
Adult Choir -
The
Adult Choir adds richly to the worship experience at Peace In Christ
with joyous singing and a wide variety of musical selections. The choir
rehearses once a week, usually on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Over
twenty people are involved with choir and agree that the rehearsals are
a great spiritual "pick-me-up" during the week. The choir is active
from September through May.
Christmas Cookie Walk and
Breakfast -
The
Peace In Christ women have been sponsoring a Christmas Cookie Walk and
Breakfast for several years. The annual event takes place in early
December and is a fund-raiser that benefits church and community
projects. Over 14,000 cookies were sold each year!
Spring
Dinner -
The
Spring dinner is
another annual fund-raiser sponsored by the Peace In Christ women. The all
"home-made menu" attracts hungry
patrons from all over the Duluth area. This event also benefits a
variety of church and community projects.
Men's Retreat -
Each
Fall and Winter the Peace In Christ men are invited to a three day retreat
in the
north country. The men choose different locations, such as rustic cabins
or a houseboat. Bible Study, hiking, canoeing, a fire
on the beach, sauna, hot tub, much laughter, good food, and great
fellowship are enjoyed by all.
Church Picnic -
Rally Sunday is the day for the Peace In Christ annual church picnic. It is held on the church grounds. Members enjoy a barbecue pot luck dinner
under the big tent. Adults are challenged to play volleyball on the
church volleyball court. A variety of games/prizes are enjoyed by
children of all ages. The keg of root beer is also a big hit each year.
Summer Coed Softball team -
Peace
In Christ members are invited to play co-ed softball during the Summer
months. The team is part of the Duluth church league organized by the
YWCA. All team members get a chance to play in every game. The league
provided umpires. The games are played for fun, exercise, and
fellowship with other Christians in the area.
